Strategic insight shaped by real-world leadership - helping SME owners & boards through growth, transition, & key decisions

I’m a Management Consultant and Non-Executive Director with over 20 years’ experience building and scaling 6-, 7-, and 8-figure businesses — including four from start-up. My background includes leading individual companies and multi-entity divisions within Unipart and Persimmon, across sectors such as manufacturing, construction, renewables, and facilities management services.
While I hold BSc and MSc qualifications, most of my real learning has come from running SME businesses first-hand — growing teams, implementing systems, managing change, and driving performance. That experience taught me how to create clarity from complexity, align people and processes, and build profitable, sustainable enterprises.
Today, I work with business owners, boards, and investors who want to strengthen performance, improve governance, and accelerate results.

My "hands-on" management consultancy approach is built around seven proven pillars that consistently enhance clarity, decision-making, and sustainable growth.

Making the right decisions at the right time — not more, but better. Clear, forward-looking planning that connects today’s choices with long-term value, bringing clarity when stakes are high. Practical strategy shaped by real operational experience — not theory.
Building a business that endures beyond individuals. Creating structure, capability, and leadership depth so the business can scale, support succession or management buy-out, or exit without dependency on any one person.
Cutting through noise, complexity, and competing demands to focus leadership time and resources on what truly creates value — aligning effort on the actions that improve performance, resilience, and valuation. Fewer initiatives, better outcomes.
Strengthening leadership and governance through clear expectations, accountability, and decision discipline. Helping owners and boards move from operational pressure to confident, well-governed decision-making with consistency, transparency, and integrity — especially when decisions are difficult.
Identifying and reducing strategic, operational, financial, and key-person risks before they become constraints. Turning complexity into clear direction and protecting value through stronger structure, oversight, and resilience — planning with the end in mind for growth, transition, or exit.
Providing constructive challenge alongside trusted support — a sounding board for critical decisions, informed by real-world experience of leading businesses from the inside through growth, change, and uncertainty.
Offering objective perspective and independent judgement. Helping owners and boards test assumptions, sense-check direction, and make better-informed decisions — preparing confidently for growth, succession, management buy-out, or exit.

My mission is to help leadership teams draw directly on my personal leadership experience — enabling them to scale with greater clarity, confidence, and commercial impact.

Engaging me as a management consultant or NED is about strengthening your organisation’s leadership capability, enhancing governance, and unlocking growth potential.
Together, we create the conditions for clarity, confidence, and consistent performance.

You remain in full control of your business — My role is to ensure that time, decisions, and resources are channelled towards the right outcomes, with measurable impact.
Please reach us at pdormon@y7ltd.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We begin with an exploratory conversation to understand your context, priorities, and challenges. This is a structured but informal discussion focused on clarity — not selling. It allows both sides to assess whether working together would be genuinely useful.
That’s a perfectly acceptable outcome. If it becomes clear that I’m not the right person to support you, I’ll say so openly. In some cases, I may suggest an alternative approach or introduce you to someone better suited to your needs.
No. The initial exploratory conversation is provided without obligation. Any potential engagement, scope, or fees are only discussed if there is a clear mutual fit.
If there is alignment, I’ll outline a clear, proportionate way of working — typically starting with a defined piece of work. This may evolve into ongoing advisory or non-executive support, but always with clear objectives, boundaries, and review points.
Engagements work best when there is openness and a willingness to engage honestly with the issues at hand. Time commitment varies depending on scope, but I aim to be focused, efficient, and respectful of your wider responsibilities.
A focused discussion to clarify priorities, risks, and whether there is a strong fit to work together.
